Blank Vinyl Records

Question Is there a blank vinyl records anywhere?
I want to get a turntable but I don't want to buy all the music I already have on vinyl albums -- are there blank vinyl records that you can just burn music onto (just like modern CDs)? Thanks :)

Best Answer I have never heard of recordable blank vinyl, however you can copy your old vinyl albums to cd using various formats. They sell software, recordable turntables and USB turntables to hook directly to your PC. Whats also cool are the vinyl recordableCD's that look just like the old 45 records!

Question Where can I buy blank Vinyl Records?
I have seen and heard of them before. I don't want to purchase online. I want to strictly use them for decoration. I don't want one that has music on them.

Best Answer erikarecords.com is a record manufacturer. But if you get blank records, they wont have any grooves and will just be shiny 12" discs. Your best bet is to go to a used record store or a place where you can get old records for 25 cents or so and just buy a bunch. This way you still get the full aesthetics of having records as decoration.

Best Answer Can you buy used ones from a Donation/Goodwill place? The reason I'm suggesting this is that it may not be impossible to get blank ones they are going to be difficult to find.

Question Where do you get Vinyl records for DJ'ing is that just a blank record or a real song on it that you scratch ?
and i was wondering what slip-mats do are they just put under the vinyl and do you just put your ipod or something into the turntables and scratch off another record someone please explain this little anoying problem !

Best Answer I don't know about the scratching process. Vinyl records generally have actual songs on them. Try independent record stores, which are generally located in larger cities and college towns.
