45 Vinyl Records

Question How to decorate with my old 45 vinyl records?
I have a stack of no longer playable 45's and I'd like to decorate with them, without looking too tacky. I was thinking of making a sort of grid, like 3 x 4 on the wall with them, so it'd use 12 of them up, just hanging them on the wall as they are (no sleeve, just the record) but I'm worried that might look a little... tacky! :) Any other ideas (other than making a bowl with them)

Best Answer 1. Fill and entire wall with them. 2. Use 4 to 6 to 9 and frame them in on the wall. 3. Use fishing line and knot them together as a window treatment or as a door curtain like the beads from the sixties. 4. Lay them under glass on a coffee or dining table. 5. Use on the wall above the bed and frame them in or not as a headboard. 6. Overlap 3 or 4 of them and fix them together and use with shelf brackets as a wall shelf in the bathroom. 7. Use one behind each end of the towel holder where is screws into the wall and also the hand towel ring. 8. Frame the bathroom mirror with them. 9. For the final bathroom idea fix them to the shower curtain rings. 10. Layer them in a way that would make a lampshade and make sure your bulb is not hot enough to melt them. 11. Buy a lamp making kit and just stack them as the base. You get to decide what is tacky or not. It is not a moral issue of right and wrong.

Question Where can I sell my large collection of 45 RPM vinyl records?
I am interested in selling the entire lot, not piece meal. I have over 100 45's in good condition, 99% of them in original paper sleeves. I don't want to list them on eBay since the shipping will be too high and most buyers want dirt cheap postage rates for heavy items. The music ranges from Motown, Country, Rock, Dance, and Lite.

Best Answer Craig's List scares me unless you make sure you meet them in a public place with cash. Someone who spins records might be interested. It finally took me a year to just give them away because I had sentimental attachment. Yard sales are another way but with the technology available today actual records seem to have a very limited audience. Sorry. Hope you make out well.
